zoo~

sat, 14th June

went to the zoo with meh, tur and claire. it's been many years since anyone of us visited the zoo, so we were quite lost as to where to go after entering (and we forgot to take a map too). the first animal we saw is the otter,

then the flammingos. then, we passed by the orang utan, walk.... and passed by the orang utan again and again... and we found the polar bears that tur was looking for.

we also saw....... the white tiger and the pygmy hippo

and finally we found the penguins!!!

refreshing trip...

swimming

went swimming with kelyn, ah le and ah lun yesterday. 2nd time swimming in the holiday. swimming is nice because u gt to immense urself in the cool water. the muscle aches just seem to disappear (as long as u dun swim to hard) and i guess it can be more comfortable than sleeping if we can just breathe in water.

the lazy river was closed. that's good. the water is dirty and polluted. it's time for them to wash and purify it. after swimming, we stuffed ourselves at KFC, cos we were really hungry. and since we were so bloated, we decided to take a walk at IMM to aid digestion. but then, we saw this chocolate fondue and ah le wanted to eat it. in the end, we decided to eat it. ok, its delicious, and the 5 small scroops of ice-creams were very tasty too.

Side-view (ice-cream!!!!!)

Top-view (Fondue!)

bbq

went bbq with the friends from DMC on tues night. A simple bbq set-up but the food was delicious and it was quite fun. we cleaned up the place really quickly and neatly after all the eating. it's been 2 years since we graduated from sec sch and i think it's really great that we still can have regular meet ups and outings together even we are in different schools now. it always takes effort, time and heart to make an outing work.

after bbqing, we went up to hg's hse and played black-jack. this is " poo-ku", hg's dog. it's really thin and bony(can feel his rib cage). it is very guai and friendly too. we stroked, tickled it, and it didnt mind at all. it even lie down elegantly and quietly when we played black-jack.

looking foward to the next outing with them.

the jetty

unlike most people, i tend to remember the dreams i had when i was sleeping. Some stressful, some ridiculous, few scary ones. but, i had a terrible nightmare yesterday. it was so realistic and painful that i started crying, and continued to cry uncontrollably even after i woke up.

i saw a jetty. it was that fateful time. everyone gathered at the jetty, waiting for the death-gods. no one knew who amongst us is already dead, who has fallen victim to the epidemic or disaster. only the death-gods know, and the fear is that they are here to bring away someone you love. i stood there, waiting. it can't be someone i know. but, that person i know, that person whom i treasure so much started to fade off. i then knew that that person is going to leave, to disappear, but i couldn't stop that person from leaving. i started to cry, i held onto that person tightly......

i never knew that person meant so much to me. did this dream helped me to realise that? i am thankful that it was just a dream, a very real dream.

what are yours dreams?

i want to share this story. A story which means a lot, but is almost always forgotten by everyone.

one day, alpha and beta were both admitted to the hospital for checkup. while waiting for the checkup results, both of them chatted.

alpha: in my whole life, i have many dreams. some are fulfilled, but many are not. if i am diagnosed with cancer, i plan to use my last remaining years to fulfill my dreams. the first thing i want to do is to travel to pompeii to see the ruins, to take a boat down the changjiang in china, to spend a winter in harbin......

and the list goes on, a total of 27 items. Beta, who was beside, also had the same plan as alpha. when the results were out, Alpha, unfortunately, had cancer, while Beta had only contracted some minor virus. that very year, Alpha quited his high-paying job and set out to achieve his dreams, while Beta dicharged and returned to his usual life.

2 years later, Beta thought of Alpha and called him to ask about his health condition.

Alpha: if not for this illness, i would not have realised how much time i have been wasting. in this 2 years, i have travelled to many countries, completed my ph.D, and am preparing to publish my first book.

on the other hand, Beta, who was not diagnosed with cancer, had long forgotton his plan to fulfill his own dreams.

Most people are just like Beta. we never realise how little time we have and how much regrets we bring with us when we die. we think we have a lot of time, but we never realise that life is actually shorter than we think. hope that this short story could constantly remind us that time is much too precious to waste.

watching twssg

second week into holidays and i know i have wasted a lot of time.

Recently finished watching "twssg". thought that it was a really good show. aside from the good looking cast, nice theme songs, and fanastic effects, i really like the plot. the legend is sad but beautiful. 凄美的爱情故事。

I especially like the character sujini, the kind that is likeable by all, i believe. this role is played by Ejiah, a new korean actress who rose to fame due to twssg. i must say her acting is good and she really pretty. what i also appreciated was that she has set up a very pretty website for her fans, showing many of her videos, photos, and news. it even had a short comic inside. It's a pity that many non-koreans like me won't be unable to read what's on the website because most of them are in korean. hope that those will written in english in future, or i would have to learn korean in order to understand.

Dare To Dream

Today is the OP. it turned out to be fine, we r satisfied with ourselves. Glad that the Q&A went well for our group. No more PW next year, yay! PW group went to vivo to watch stardust (sci-fiction romance) after the OP, n the movie was really nice. so what is the movie trying to convey? To me, it's "dare to dream", "learn to love", n "be imaginative". It is important that everyone of us have a dream and more importantly that we hold on to it. as the old saying goes "人因为梦想而伟大".
